Short bio

Reid Andrés is a Pennsylvania-born, New Jersey-based singer-songwriter whose music blends vivid storytelling with earthy folk, world rhythms, and bittersweet Americana. His sophomore album In Good Company (2025)—produced by Ben Zwerin and featuring musicians from the touring bands of Bonnie Raitt, Amos Lee, and Steely Dan—showcases sharp lyrical detail, warm resonant vocals, and rhythm guitar work that explores life's quiet ironies and enduring human connections. Whether performing solo or with a full band, Andrés brings an intimate, roots-driven sound that feels both timeless and deeply human.

Full bio

Reid Andrés grew up in suburban Philadelphia, where a drummer's heartbeat first set his rhythm. His musical journey took him across the globe—through Barcelona's subways, Ghana's drum circles, and along Samoa's Pacific shores—each landscape deepening his palette of folk, world music, and Americana. After over a decade as a rhythmic force in various projects, he stepped into his own voice as a solo artist.

His debut, *Distilled* (2019), introduced the sharp storytelling and roots-rock sensibility that would define his work. Post-Truth (2020) followed, building momentum and radio play. But *In Good Company* (2025)—his sophomore album produced by Ben Zwerin (known for work with Lizz Wright and Angélique Kidjo)—represents a full artistic statement. Recorded in New York's Hudson Valley, it features an all-star lineup: musicians from the touring bands of Bonnie Raitt, Amos Lee, Hiss Golden Messenger, and Steely Dan, with guitarist Adam Levy (Norah Jones, Tracy Chapman) guesting on the title track.

The album explores connection and belonging—the title itself suggesting companionship through joy and challenge alike. Songs like "Government Pigeon" open with uptempo hoedown energy, while deeper cuts reveal moments of quiet reflection. Americana Highways praised it as "rootsy rock crossovers with traditional folk, with moments of joy and moments of nostalgia," and the record has earned rotation on Radio Woodstock (WDST) and stations across the Northeast.

Whether performing solo, as a duo, or with his full trio, Andrés brings an intimate, roots-driven presence that feels both timeless and deeply human. He's now based in New Jersey and continues to tour regionally while building toward what's next.

Press

Reid Andrés has just quietly released a new album of rich textured sounds in 8 songs produced by Ben Zwerin. The record features a host of talented musicians many of whom are eminent Hudson Valley players, as the album is aptly named In Good Company. The songs are rootsy rock crossovers with traditional folk, with moments of joy and moments of nostalgia as all along the journey.

The record, entitled "In Good Company", his second album (his debut was 2019's "Distilled"), is a varied slice of americana and a really good listen. There's a debate to be had as to whether a cover version which sticks faithfully to the original is really worthwhile, well, Andrés does a very different and rather excellent cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's 1969 classic 'Bad Moon Rising' on the LP.

Americana UK, June 24, 2025, Peter Thompson, Album Reviews

RC Andres is on the leading edge of how folk rock is changing with a country twang. His sound is fresh and folksy with real tunes distinguished by a combination of his rugged voice and melodic country guitar. A welcome departure from the vast sea of me-too music out there. Tap your feet to it, take a swig or throw one back and grin...it'll make you happy :-)
